A) Acumen is sold through an ever-growing network of select dealers and distributors. Call Hillsboro Industries at (620) 947-3127 to find a dealer near you.
A.) It doesn’t really take a “rocket scientist” to install the system. But the procedure does vary from one tow vehicle manufacturer to the other. Just to be safe, we suggest you use your authorized Acumen dealer or call Hillsboro Industries (620) 947-3127 for additional information.
A) Not yet, but it’s coming soon. Current products cover 5th-wheel and gooseneck models. Updates and announcements on the new bumper pull model will be posted to this web site when more information becomes available.
A) Acumen engages all of your rig’s brakes in unison, and with a “balanced” braking force. Neither the tow vehicle’s nor the trailer’s brakes deliver more braking than their original designed constraints. If Acumen allows you to avoid just ONE brake job or a set of new tires over the life of your rig, you’ve saved a lot of money (and downtime).
A) The 5th-wheel and gooseneck systems, in total, cost a little more than today ’s conventional systems. But we’ve heard nothing but praise from current Acumen owners who’ve told us their system’s worth much more than they paid. They just kick themselves that they didn’t get it sooner. Again, call us at 620-947-3127. We can discuss your needs and the costs.
A) No, Acumen is a “system”; (including the Acumen brake module and sensored-hitch). You will not enjoy the many benefits offered by “FST ” if you remove any component from the Acumen System. However, Acumen’ s hitch can be attached to the 5-wheel rails of other select hitch manufacturers.
A) No, again, only the Acumen Brake Module can detect and interpret the “force signals” that are sent from the Acumen FST hitch.
